NFTHelpr does not under any circumstances collect compromising user wallet details (eg MetaMask) and only the user is authorised to approve wallet interaction with NFTHelprservices.
As per industry standard BIP39 or Bitcoin Improvement Proposal: 39 wallets with their implementation of mnemonic phrase or mnemonic code is how NFTHelpr ensures high anonymity, optimal protection of user privacy, and flexibility of transactions. NFTHelpr does not in any step of the process ask for comprising details such as seed phrases or private keys. NFTHelpr’s services are greatly reliant on the supported wallets’ security, therefore we recommend the usage of MetaMask. Nonetheless, hot wallets in comparison to cold wallets/storage always hold an element of risk due to its connectivity to web servers.
However, most users that report their assets stolen from BIP39 wallets are not because of the wallet’s innate security features. The reason why is because of user negligence in storing their seed phrase or private keys in compromising locations or when beginners fall for scams and phishing attacks. Some common scams as per our guide for maximising safety for our users are:
Fake Wallet support (example Fake MetaMask support) or Email phishing alert
MetaMask does not ever collect your personal information in any situation. These are commonly reported email phishing campaigns to extract compromising details under the guise of KYC regulations.
Fake MetaMask or other wallet download links.
Users are advised not to keep their hot wallets automatically open (not requiring signing-in) due to reduced security concerns with respect to hot wallets.
